Adaptive Quizzing explained
To begin a LearningCurve Adaptive Quiz, just click on it to open it.When you do that, an explanation of how the Adaptive Quiz is scored will be shown to you.
- Your task is to score points by answering questions.
- Your instructor or teacher has established a certain score you need to reach to demonstrate comprehension of the concept. That score is called a target score.
- Once you reach the target score, you will receive full credit for completing the Adaptive Quiz. You must reach the target score to receive credit for the Adaptive Quiz.
- Questions get harder as you progress through the Adaptive Quiz, and you get more points for answering harder questions.
When you are ready to begin, click Begin Activity.
Questions explained
When you select a LearningCurve Adaptive Quiz, you are presented with a series of questions. As soon as you click on an answer choice, you receive feedback for that choice. You are able to build up your score by answering correctly. If you answer correctly on the first try without using any hints, the next question in the same topic will be worth more potential points!Questions in each Adaptive Quiz are divided into levels. If you answer a question correctly without hints, the next question for that topic will come from the next most difficult level. In this way, LearningCurve Adaptive Quizzing adapts to your needs and is able to adjust its level of difficulty based on your performance.
Helpful tips
LearningCurve Adaptive Quizzes offer many helpful tips to assist you. Take care to avoid relying too much on these resources. Learning new concepts depends on your ability to work through these questions on your own.
Cross-references to e-book or other content
Each question includes a cross-reference to instructional material, either to your print books or to online content.Use this link to get help answering the question. Unlike the Show answer or Get a hint buttons, the cross-reference link won’t reduce the number of points you can earn.
Hints
The Get a Hint option either provides quick tips to help you answer a question or removes incorrect choices one at a time, with an explanation of why a removed answer is incorrect.
Feedback
If you answer a question incorrectly, you receive feedback about that answer.
Challenge question
Whether you answer correctly or incorrectly, you will have the option to Challenge this question to report any issue with the question.
Show answer
If the question is too difficult, you can click Show answer to see the answer. However, no points are awarded and you will continue to see questions from that same topic and difficulty level.
Scoring explained
Your points are shown at the top of the screen.When you select the correct answer on your first try, you receive the full points available for that question. If you don't answer the question correctly on the first try, you can try again! The number of points you can potentially earn will decrease with each incorrect answer, but you can still earn points on the second and third tries, so don't give up! Even if you are unable to earn points for a particular question, you'll never lose points that you have already earned.
